She asked me to put a mask on and check to see how my blood oxygen lowers.
I put a mask on at 98% oxygenation, and it stayed at 98% while I told her that as a former nurse she should fucking know better.
I’d think the people who claim scientists are lying to them are only projecting their own propensity to lie to others. These folks would prefer to choose their own facts, and to counter anyone who disagrees with those facts there is this simple choice:
- Claim the opposing source is “biased”
- Blame “the media”
- Double down on their own ignorance (Dunning–Kruger effect)
I remember hearing “TV will rot your brain.” Turns out, so will falling into a YouTube rabbit hole sucked deeper by the engagement algorithms. If you’re looking for a “deep state” conspiracy, YouTube’s Up Next feature is the closest you’re going to get.
