PG&E said in a statement that the utility will credit residential customers impacted by the Oct. 9 shutoff $100 and business customers $250. The credit will be in the form of a one-time on-bill credit.

It feels a bit like giving up?

“We don’t have enough money to upgrade our infrastructure, and we’re on the verge of bankruptcy, so here’s some cash to ameliorate you all.”
