Oof. This ride hurt. Had to stop at 92 miles due to a slowing heart rate; guess that muscle got tired. Amazing and interesting feeling to have a heart rate of around 40 bpm – dizziness and loss of strength. More intriguing was that it took over an hour of doing nothing to recover.
Last year it was hydration and leg strength keeping me from completing the 100. This time my heart just wasn’t in it. Oh well, next time I’ll aim to have both sorted.
